Full Moon over Cap Dramont

Evening atmosphere with a full moon at Cap Dramont, Estérel, Côte d'Azur, FranceAt Cap Dramont, I experienced the full fascination of the Estérel coast in a small area: a rugged rocky coastline with bizarre rock formations made of the reddish volcanic rock that characterises the Estérel Massif, Mediterranean macchia, and the deep blue sea of the Côte d’Azur. From the summit with its lighthouse, at an incredible 162 metres above sea level, you can see Agay Bay, Anthéor and the Pic de Cap Roux in the Estérel Nature Park to the northeast. In the opposite direction, you overlook the Gulf of Fréjus, the Massif des Maures and the peninsula near St. Tropez. Near Plage de Camp Long, there’s a car park – the access road from the N98 is a little inconspicuous on a bend – from which the summit and many viewpoints are easily accessible. I experienced atmospheric and peaceful moments here, especially at dusk. More pictures of Cap Dramont, the Estérel Nature Park and the Côte d’Azur can be seen in the ‘France’ gallery.
