Venice Photo Gallery (1990, 2014)
Venice during Holy Week means extra visitors, with pilgrims and worshippers on their way to Rome for the Easter celebrations and the Papal Mass. On the other hand, the already warm weather makes up for it, often with clear, sunny skies without the usual haze, offering views as far as the snow-capped Alps.
So much has already been said about the sights and unique features of the city on the lagoon – Venice is a magnificent living work of contemporary art and a museum at the same time, which you have to explore and enjoy in your own way.
Venice is also particularly charming in late autumn, when mist shrouds the city in melancholy and only a little sunlight reaches the mansions, palaces, and churches that bear witness to the faded glory and heyday of this once-important trading city in Italy.
