Multiperspectives
On many journeys, I experience places, moods, or motifs whose visual impression or beauty, historical or cultural multi-layered nature I try to capture by synthesising photographs from different angles into a multi-perspective (or poly-perspective) collage.
The multitude of individually captured and selected images thus enables subjective compositions with ambiguous interpretative approaches and visual statements. This creates a connection across temporal, relational, and observational levels beyond a purely neutral depiction. I enjoy playing with textures, structures, colours, or the depicted actors and objects. The overlay thus synthesises either partially hidden or new, independent perspectives in the individual source images, which are to be discovered in the detailed pictures and should be allowed to resonate.
In addition to the ongoing series from my current home in Munich, e.g., Ballbuben (Allianz Arena) and Olympiapark, the first shots were inspired by Pisan churches and motifs from the Italian coast. Further information on the background of the shots can be found on the linked pages in the blog.
