World Views – a 1994 book project
As a child, I loved leafing through coffee-table books and was impressed by the images from all over the world. I would dream of adventures in far-off lands and of past cultures. When I started travelling myself years later, some of these dreams became a reality.
Between 1990 and 1993, I took my first tentative steps as a photographer on my first solo trips into the world. In the numerous images and texts in this gallery, I would like to share my experiences with you and inspire you to dream as I show you a small selection of intoxicating landscapes, amazing cultures, and eventful history. See also how the natural environment has shaped the people, who in turn have helped to shape the world into its appearance today. Be curious about unknown perspectives and get a picture of this fascinating world.
Thanks to my training as a print media technician, I was able to carry out the entire analogue pre-press process myself – scanning, retouching, typesetting, compositing – and only had to have it printed and bound.
