Greece, 1996, 2024
From prehistoric times through the classical era, the Byzantine Empire, the Ottoman period, to modern Greek society, Greece has always been at the crossroads of East and West.
Delphi, Olympia, and Mystras – promising names – are well-known from ancient tales like Odysseus’s journeys or the enthusiastic texts of Lord Byron. The vibrant metropolis of Athens, with its contrast of ancient sites and modern lifestyles, is just as captivating as the typically white Cycladic villages, e.g., Milos, Paros, Amorgos, and especially the volcanic island of Santorini.
Furthermore, these places are nestled in an impressive landscape: snow-capped peaks, fertile hills, the rocks of Metéora, and above all, the Aegean Sea with its diverse islands in the turquoise waters under a blue sky… This is Europe at its finest!
