Mountains – Mountain Landscapes
In the mountains, I am fascinated by the three-dimensionality of the landscape, which allows for perspectives from different levels – looking up, wide views or deep views – and thus offers more creative and narrative options. On the one hand, I am captivated by the beauty and wilderness of nature and try, very much in the spirit of Romanticism, to visualise a feeling, a longing, the unconscious, or a universally valid transcendental idea. On the other hand, many mountain ranges are also cultural spaces that shape people and have been shaped by people – which I also explore, for example, on many hikes and high-altitude tours along the main Alpine ridge, in the Dolomites, in the Karwendel and Wetterstein ranges, Ticino and Central Switzerland, as well as in the New Zealand Alps, Australia, or Scandinavia.
