Circular hike over the Große Klammspitze (1,924 m)

The circular hike over the Große Klammspitze (1,924 m; at the very back) in the Ammergau Alps is a classic, offering magnificent views during the ridge walk along the Feigenkopf and Klammspitzgrat, with the summit as the highlight.
I started the day trip at Linderhof Palace and did the tour clockwise, with the long ascent through the Sägertal valley to the Bäckenalmsattel. This allowed me to enjoy the morning freshness of the summer day in the forest for longer and to take a long (culinary) break at the Brunnenkopfhütte during the afternoon descent, before the final, easy and less attractive stretch back down to the starting point at Linderhof Palace.
A colourful sea of blossoms welcomed me at the Hirschwangalm; the partly exposed and scrambly ridge required constant attention, despite the inviting views towards the Hochplatte, the Wetterstein mountains or the Alpine foothills.
The ridge walk can be seen as a step up from the tours over the Blauberge or from Herzogstand to Heimgarten.
