Cala Biriola in Sardinia

The small sandy beach in Cala Biriola bay is typical of the many impressively beautiful beaches along the coast of Sardinia, each region possessing its own unique charm. For instance, the east coast in the Gulf of Orosei is characterised by high mountains and cliffs with rocks and grottoes, while Gallura features bizarre rock formations, and Ogliastra boasts miles of sandy beaches – the list could go on for every region.
The narrow beach of Cala Biriola is framed by the clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea and steep cliffs of multicoloured limestone, which is why the bay is only accessible by boat, for example, on an organised tour from Cala Gonone. Nearby, Cala Luna and Cala Goloritzé are further unique bays in this section of coastline, which is rich in scenic highlights.
