The Ponte Pietra in Verona

If you go from Piazza Bra with the Arena di Verona to Piazza delle Erbe, you should definitely continue on to the Ponte Pietra to cross the Adige from Verona’s old town, where this impressive panorama awaits. Just behind the bridge, a short but steep climb leads to Castel San Pietro, an excellent viewpoint. If you want to go even further and higher, I recommend the viewpoint at the church Santuario della Madonna di Lourdes, which offers a wide panorama over Verona. In the early morning, the houses along the Adige glow particularly colourfully in the strong sunlight. Some of them house bars and restaurants with cosy outdoor terraces right on the riverbank.
