Lenbachhaus Munich Reopening

After more than 4 years of renovation, one of Munich’s most spectacular art collections reopened its doors in May 2013 – the Lenbachhaus, featuring “The Blue Rider” exhibition with works by Kandinsky, Marc, Münter, Klee, and other noteworthy collections ranging from the 19th century, art from 1945 onwards, to contemporary artists such as Gerhard Richter. Visitors now enter the museum directly from the corner of Luisenstraße/Brienner Straße and, in the atrium that connects the modern extension with the golden façade and the artist’s villa designed in Renaissance style, they are greeted by an impressive sculpture flowing down from the ceiling, before proceeding via stairs and gateways to the individual collections.
