The Lenbachhaus in Munich

A modern extension with a golden façade, designed by architects Foster & Partners, who also designed the Reichstag dome in Berlin, has housed the core of the exhibition at the Lenbachhaus since May 2013 – the ‘Der Blaue Reiter’ collection with works by Wassily Kandinsky and Gabriele Münter, Alexej Jawlensky and Marianne von Werefkin, Franz Marc and many more. The new building ensemble, along with the numerous sculptures, plastic arts, and paintings, forms a magnificent whole and will once again become a magnet for hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
