Historic Tanneries on the River Temo in Bosa
On the southern bank of the River Temo, the long row of former tannery buildings, Sas Conzas, dominates. In the 19th century, tanning and leather processing was a defining economic sector for Bosa, favoured by its riverside location. Many of the buildings are now being renovated and used as holiday flats or restaurants.
The gables form a beautiful zigzag pattern and the individual façades are prettily and variedly painted in Mediterranean colours. In front of one of the houses, on the wide promenade, the inviting tables of a restaurant stand in the golden evening sun, with the panorama of Bosa’s old town. The romantic sunset atmosphere is accompanied by two musicians playing live music. This is a lovely way to round off a day filled with numerous impressions of the beautiful town of Bosa.
