Lively Marina di Camerota

While a busy yet serene atmosphere prevails in Marina di Camerota outside the summer season, the town fills up with predominantly Italian holidaymakers in summer and shows a different side. Towards evening, vehicles back up on the road down to the town centre and the harbour; it’s there and in the adjacent alleys leading to Piazza San Domenico that much of the public summer spectacle takes place.

One evening, crowds of people formed around the televisions in the bars and almost blocked the street – but it wasn’t a World Cup match, just a ‘normal’ Serie A league match for SSC Napoli – which testifies to the passion for football and the pride Southern Italians take in ‘their’ Neapolitan team.
