Evening Mood at Württemberger Haus

While the last light of day illuminates the Bittrichkopf, the hungry hikers, after their day tours and an afternoon sunbath, are already having dinner at the Württemberger Haus. For the hut wardens, a full house also means a major logistical challenge to meet the guests’ wishes and demands.The food was delicious – and a really large portion was served, which even I struggled with. Tonight, it’s an early night, as another long stage awaits with the ascent to Großbergspitze and the traverse to Memminger Hütte. Highly recommended, not just when the hut is full, is the cosy emergency dormitory directly under the roof ridge.
