The Casino of Friendship
The Casino is one of the most striking buildings on the central waterfront promenade of Cadaqués. Casino is also a traditional name for a building with club rooms, a dining hall, or often for the main village pub where everyone met: from grandparents to grandchildren on Sundays, and also (starving) artists, writers or workers during the week. The building is owned by the “Friendship Society of Cadaqués” (Societat l’Amistat Cadaqués) and, in addition to the popular bar on the ground floor, houses three exhibition halls and a large, prestigious terrace overlooking the bay. Golden October in the Pfaffenwinkel
The dry, warm Föhn wind makes for a perfect late October day in the Bavarian Alps with temperatures up to 20 degrees and clear views. The golden rays of the low afternoon sun highlight the vibrant colours of the autumn leaves on two venerable oaks, which overlook meadows and forests, rivers and lakes in the Loisach Valley. Behind a landscape shaped by agriculture, the mountains of the Bavarian Alps rise up – Benediktenwand (left), Jochberg, Herzogstand and Heimgarten (right), with the Karwendel Mountains visible in the far background. Nestled between them lie Lake Kochel and Lake Walchen. This area is part of the so-called Bavarian “Pfaffenwinkel”. Read more
25 Years of Electronic Image Editing with Photoshop
On 19 February 1990, the first version of the image editing software Photoshop by Adobe was released, which has since had a major influence on the creativity and workflow of graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, retouchers and layout artists.
