Cherry blossoms in the morning mist
On a misty morning in this rather cool and damp spring, water droplets and morning dew cover the cherry blossoms and leaves. The lush abundance of the Japanese flowering cherry blossoms in the nearby park shows itself in a new and different way again this year. Instead of a wide-angle lens for a landscape panorama, I also brought along the macro lens for close-ups this time.
In recent years, I’ve experienced the cherry blossom season with both ice and snow and spring sunshine. In the morning or evening, there are all sorts of different moods to discover and image ideas to try out. Unfortunately, at two metres high overhead, without a tripod and with subjects moving in the wind, it’s quite a challenge to get the desired parts of the image in focus. Many of the blossoms are still in the making, transitioning from a bud with pink sepals to the pale pink petals of the unfolded flower.
