The stage is set in Castellabate

The square known as the “Belvedere” in the medieval town of Castellabate, which lies on a hill 260 m above the harbour and the beaches of Santa Maria di Castellabate, owes its name to the magnificent view of the Cilento coastline on the Gulf of Salerno, extending as far as Amalfi and Capri on a clear day. Especially at sunset, the panorama becomes almost unbearably beautiful. However, the vast panorama and natural spectacles are merely the grand backdrop for the human tragedies, comedies, and dramas of life in Cilento, which reveal themselves through close observation of the people in the square, as public squares in Italy are a grand stage for real life.
