Sunrise on Charles Bridge

The cool morning air streamed through the window, and in the twilight, the first outlines of the city began to appear. So, I decided to explore the city of Prague and Charles Bridge at this early hour. As I didn’t want to walk the rather long way from the hotel to the centre, I tried to find a bus or tram using the sparse map and the posted timetables. Fortunately, the first lines were already running, and soon I was sitting on a rumbling tram among the first commuters on their way to work, probably observed with curiosity as an unusual passenger. Mist hung over the city as it gradually awoke, and finally, with vibrant colours, the sun emerged golden from behind the veils, perfectly fulfilling the cliché of Prague as the ‘Golden City’.

On that day, I had the bridge all to myself and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the waking city – a completely different vibe compared to the illuminated bridge and city in the evening.
