Wasigenstein Castle Ruins

21. May 2023/0 Comments/in France/by Matthias

Neck ditch and keep of the medieval Groß-Wasigenstein castle ruins on a rock, Wasgau, Alsace, France

The Citadel of Bitche

30. July 2022/0 Comments/in France/by Matthias

Fortress walls of the Citadel of Bitche, Alsace, France

Many castles and castle ruins in the Wasgau, the border region between Alsace, Lorraine and the Palatinate, have preserved their medieval appearance, e.g. the Wasigenstein, Fleckenstein or the Wegelnburg.
