On the drive to Ackernalm in the Bavarian Prealps, the wide thunderstorm front approaching from the west caught up with me already in the Alpine foothills. The sky looms dark when looking out from the Jägerkamp at Lake Spitzingsee, veiling the summit of the Guffert. In the lowlands, the colours of growth, fertility and abundance are already sprouting – the fresh, bright green of meadows and forests or the vibrant, glowing colours of spring flowers. In the mountains, where a greyed blanket of snow gives way only slowly to make room for life again, muted and earthy tones still dominate. Read more
