The Ra Papyrus Raft at the Kon-Tiki Museum
The Ra 2 papyrus raft, which Thor Heyerdahl used in 1970 to cross the Atlantic from Africa to South America, covering over 6,000 km, can now be seen at the Kon-Tiki Museum in Oslo. The Kon-Tiki raft is also exhibited there; Heyerdahl and his crew sailed it 8,000 km from South America to the South Pacific in 1947. The museum is located very close to the Viking Ship Museum; both museums can easily be visited in one day.
